Import and Export Dump Files to MySQL/MariaDB/Percona

Dump Import

Step 1. Use a MySQL client (e.g., MySQL Workbench in your local system) to connect to the Remote Database.

Step 2. Go to the Database tab and click the Connect to Database option.

Step 3. In the Connect to Database window, enter the IP address, port number, username, and password (sent to you via email when you created the environment) in the respective field.

Step 4. Then click the OK button to start a connection.

Step 5. In the Password field, enter the database user password you entered in the Connect to Database window. Then click on the OK button to proceed.

Step 6. Once the database connection is successfully established, you will get a new tab with the Mysql@Server IP address.

Step 7. Go to the Management section on the screen’s left side and click on the Data Import/Restore option.

Step 8. In the Data Import window, choose the Import from Self-Contained File option and select the SQL dump file you want to import from the three-dot option.

Select the database where you want to restore or import the SQL dump file in the Default Target Schema.

You can create a new database by clicking on the New option if the database is not created.

Please ensure that the database user you used to access the Database server has database create permission. If the user doesn’t, you will receive an error message.

After then click on the Start Import button to start the import process.

Step 9. You will get the Progress status in the Import Progress tab and once it is complete, then you will get a finished message (i.e Import of C:\User\stpwe\Downloads\autotrade_db.sql has finished).

Step 10. Return to the AccuWeb.Cloud dashboard, open MySQL (MariaDB) in a browser, and sign in with the provided credentials.

Select “accuweb_db database and click on it. You will see your imported dump.

Dump Export

Step 1. Open the server instance in your MySQL client, select Data Export, and choose the database objects to export.

Specify the directory path for the dump.

Step 2. The export process can take several minutes, depending on the data size. Once the export process is completed, you will get a message (i.e. Import of C:\User\stpwe\OneDrive\Documents\dumps\Dump20240626 has finished). The dump file will be in the specified directory.
