Storing Data in Master Container

Storing Data in Master Container

Master container storage refers to efficiently storing data within a single node layer without needing to export files across different environments. This approach is particularly effective when data needs to be shared exclusively within the confines of a single node. Instead of setting up a separate storage container, the initial node (master) within the layer serves as the storage server.

For example, if an application uses a set of images across compute nodes, sharing a folder across the entire layer ensures consistent availability of the same content across all containers.

This setup eliminates the need to duplicate and synchronize data copies across multiple nodes, thereby reducing disk space usage and overall environment costs. Since there’s no additional storage node involved, this structure minimizes the need for extra resources and associated expenses.
