Organizing Environments Into Groups: How to Smartly Structure Your Projects

Environment Groups are created to organize the environments on your platform dashboard. This tool helps you handle many different setups connected to your account, offering a concise summary of your project’s elements and configuration

You can organize your environments by using custom tags that you create and assign to them. These tags are like labels or categories that appear in a separate column on your dashboard. When you tap on a tag, you can conveniently organize your setups according to different characteristics you’ve set, like the technology stack, project association, or development phase.

Environment Groups

You’ll find the key tools for managing environment groups in the specialized Env Groups menu, located at the top of the main dashboard screen, right above the list of environments. In this menu, you’ll discover a handy center where you can easily access and manage all the groups you’ve created, equipped with a range of helpful tools to organize and supervise them.

Once a specific group is selected, its name will show up in the top groups panel as part of the nested elements.

To stop filtering and go back to the full list of available environments, simply click on the main button labeled Env Groups.

You can easily check out the complete layout of your environment groups, including everything that’s included and how they’re organized, by simply accessing the Environment Groups box. To do this, just click on Manage in the Env Groups menu. You will discover a variety of tools in this box that let you modify your groups as needed.

You have the freedom to form countless groups, using any naming convention that makes sense to you, incorporating letters, numbers, special characters, and spaces. Additionally, you can divide each group into smaller subgroups as necessary, and each environment can be part of multiple groups.
