Synergistic Technologies operates a Plesk-based reseller hosting environment serving more than 40 WordPress sites. AccuWeb.Cloud migrated the complete multi-tenant platform from Jelastic PaaS to CloudStack IaaS, preserving Plesk subscriptions, reseller/client permissions, application configuration, scheduled services, and individual client availability throughout the move.
Synergistic Technologies operated a Plesk-based reseller hosting environment serving more than 40 WordPress sites across multiple downstream clients. Because those sites were managed through a shared reseller platform, the migration had to preserve Plesk subscriptions, reseller/client hierarchy, permissions, hosting configurations, and individual website availability throughout the move.
A single bulk cutover would have concentrated risk across every hosted client at once. Instead, the migration needed a controlled per-client cutover strategy, allowing each WordPress site to be validated on the new infrastructure before its own DNS transition while the rest of the reseller environment remained live.
This made the project more than a standard WordPress or server migration. It required a coordinated Plesk reseller migration that protected both the hosting platform structure and the experience of every downstream customer.
A Plesk reseller environment contains more than websites. Subscriptions, reseller accounts, client permissions, hosting plans, mail settings, DNS templates, and resource limits all form part of the operating structure. During migration, these relationships need to remain intact so downstream clients continue working exactly as before.
WordPress sites may contain hardcoded internal IP addresses, database endpoints, environment-specific settings, cron jobs, or other references tied to the source platform. These dependencies need to be identified and corrected before each site is moved to production on the new infrastructure.
In a multi-tenant reseller environment, moving every customer at once increases migration risk. A phased, per-client cutover allows each WordPress site to be validated independently before DNS changes, while other hosted clients remain live and unaffected.
Four Constraints That Had to Be Solved Without Disrupting Clients
The migration had to retain Plesk subscriptions, reseller accounts, client permissions, hosting plans, and resource assignments exactly as configured. Rebuilding those relationships manually after cutover would have introduced unnecessary risk across dozens of hosted WordPress sites.
Some client wp-config.php files referenced Jelastic internal IP addresses directly. Those references had to be identified and corrected for the new CloudStack environment without changing WordPress content, plugins, or application state.
Scheduled Plesk backups, cron jobs, and mail-queue processing depended on the existing environment and timing. These services had to be rebuilt and validated so client backups and background processes continued on schedule after migration.
Moving every hosted client at once would have concentrated the migration risk into a single event. Instead, each customer environment needed its own controlled validation and cutover, helping keep unplanned downtime at zero and support ticket volume flat throughout the migration.
A Phased Plesk Migration with Per-Client Validation Before Cutover
We migrated the Plesk control panel, subscriptions, reseller/client hierarchy, hosting plans, mail queues, DNS templates, and permissions from Jelastic to CloudStack while preserving the existing account structure. This avoided rebuilding dozens of customer environments from scratch and reduced the risk of configuration drift during migration.
We reviewed individual WordPress environments for hardcoded Jelastic internal IP addresses and platform-specific configuration references, then updated the affected wp-config.php files for the new infrastructure without altering website content, plugins, or application state.
Plesk backup schedules, cron jobs, and mail-queue processing were rebuilt to match the original environment and validated after migration. This helped ensure backups, automated tasks, and mail processing continued without gaps once each client moved to the new platform.
Instead of moving every hosted website in one bulk DNS change, we used a phased, per-client migration and cutover process. Each WordPress site was validated on the new CloudStack infrastructure before its individual cutover, limiting migration risk and helping keep unplanned downtime at zero and support ticket volume flat throughout the move.
Synergistic Technologies’ complete Plesk reseller hosting environment, including more than 40 WordPress sites, was migrated from Jelastic PaaS to CloudStack IaaS within a single weekend window.
The phased migration preserved Plesk subscriptions, reseller/client permissions, WordPress configuration, scheduled services, mail processing, and individual client availability throughout the move. Most importantly, the migration finished with zero unplanned downtime and no increase in downstream support ticket volume.
"Our entire multi-tenant WordPress environment migrated over a weekend with zero disruption for any of our 40+ client sites."
