Import and Export Dump Files to PostgreSQL<\/h2>\n

Make two database environments and establish a connection to them using any desktop client (pgAdmin4 is used as an example).<\/p>\n

\"Env<\/a><\/p>\n

Exporting a Dump from PostgreSQL<\/h2>\n

Step 1.<\/strong> In pgAdmin4, organize your environments by adding remote-postgres.us-accuweb.cloud<\/strong> to the backupsource<\/strong> server group and destination.us-accuweb.cloud<\/strong> to the destination<\/strong> server group.<\/p>\n

Step 2.<\/strong> Right-click on the database you want to back up (for instance, SQLdb<\/strong>) and select Backup<\/strong> from the context menu.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Step 3.<\/strong> In the dialog that appears, enter a name for your dump file (e.g.,backupdump<\/strong>) and choose the desired format for the output file, such as Tar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Backupdump\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Step 4.<\/strong> Navigate to the Data Options<\/strong> tab and select the specific backup options for the database objects you wish to include.<\/p>\n

\"Data<\/a><\/p>\n

Step 5.<\/strong> Click the Backup<\/strong> button to initiate the process. A confirmation window should appear if the backup is successful.<\/p>\n

Your dump file will be saved in your home directory or at the specified path where pgAdmin4 is installed.<\/p>\n

Dump import to PostgreSQL<\/h2>\n

Step1.<\/strong> Begin by creating an empty database<\/a> on the destination server.<\/p>\n

\"Create<\/a><\/p>\n

Step 2.<\/strong> In the Database<\/strong> field, you can either use the same name (e.g., SQLdb<\/strong>) or choose any name you prefer.<\/p>\n

\"Create<\/a><\/p>\n

Step 3.<\/strong> To import the database dump into PostgreSQL, right-click on the new database and select Restore.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Restore\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Step 4.<\/strong> Choose the file format that was used during the backup. In our example, we used the tar<\/strong> format. Specify the name of the backup file, or use the file open dialog next to the Filename<\/strong> field to select the appropriate file.<\/p>\n

\nStep 5.<\/strong> If needed, configure any advanced restore options.<\/p>\n

\"Configure\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Step 6.<\/strong> Click the Restore<\/strong> button to proceed.<\/p>\n

Step 7.<\/strong> Go back to the SQLdb<\/strong> database in the destination<\/strong> server group and verify that the database<\/a> has been successfully restored with all its content on both the Master<\/strong> and Slave<\/strong> servers.<\/p>\n
